Advanced Level Secretarial Course The Secretarial Studies course offered at the College of Central London is designed to teach students how to handle the requirements of a modern commercial office enviroment. Syllabus - Advanced Level 1. TYPEWRITING 2. OFFICE PROCEDURES 3. ENGLISH FOR BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS 4. OFFICE TECHNOLOGY & INFORMATION PROCESSING The programme for this module will be developed through practically based activities with a clear business context and focus and should encourage the view of information technology as a tool for the achievement of business objectives rather than an end in itself. Option Modules - Advanced Level 1. PUBLIC RELATIONS Special Events (such as press conferences, seminars, exhibitions and trade fairs), Promotion in Export Markets, Presentation (for students to put over themselves and their ideas effectively)
2. DESKTOP PUBLISHING Prepare and save multi-page documents, Use headers and footers, Import Graphics. Observe typing conventions, Display to the best effect.
