The benefits are two fold.
1. Your assessment is by assignment and you are graded with Distinction, Merit or Pass. If you do not do well on a piece of course work you can re-submit the assignment following the guidance of your tutor. In this way you get a second chance. With examinations there is no second chance.
2. You will broaden your knowledge by learning many new subjects and putting them in the context of work. Case studies and work based examples are much more relevant.
BTECs are vocational qualifications which fully engage learners.
They provide a more practical, real-world approach to learning and skills development alongside a key theoretical background.
They continue to be developed and updated with and for industry and in response to the needs of learners. This ensures that learners gain maximum benefit from their work whilst qualifying. This could be in readiness for the workplace or continued study at the next level, whether in an academic environment or a more specialist vocational area.
