This Extended Diploma is a nationally and internationally recognised qualification and is validated, administered and verified by Pearson.

The aim of the Pearson BTEC Extended National Diploma is to provide students with a sound, basic business education, suitable for those seeking a range of careers in industry, commerce and public administration and thus enabling them to be more successful when seeking employment. It is a well regarded qualification for entry to Higher Education and advanced professional studies. Almost all UK universities accept it as entry.

The Extended Diploma offered by the college is the same one offered by all state FE colleges in UK. The learning methods utilised, enables students to take an active part in their own learning. Course tutors help to generate motivation and self-reliance, which stimulates interest. We do not focus on developing you as an individual but on assignments to give you every possibility of achieving in fast track mode.

Students will be assessed on their work during the course and through assignments set and marked by their tutors.

It is, above all, a vocational course, designed to develop the skills of students to be able to solve problems, which are likely to arise in daily work. In addition, it enables students to continue their studies since it gives entry to a whole range of recognised UK degree courses. It is also possible to obtain subject for subject exemptions in other diploma and professional qualifications.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

Students must be aged 18 years or over.
They must possess four GCSE's at grade C and above including English and Mathematics or an equivalent such as IGCSE or Functional Skills Level 2 qualification, or a BTEC first Diploma. Mature students (over 21 years of age) may be exempt from this requirement on grounds of experience.

DURATION OF COURSE

The course can be completed in one year instead of the traditional two academic years.
There is a rolling programme so learners can start in September and aim to complete the Extended Diploma by July the following year or start in January and aim to complete the 180 credit Extended Diploma by July or switch to the 120 credit Diploma.

The taught course is structured around formal classes, tutorials and workshops. In addition, students will be expected to undertake private study. Students will have to prepare at least four assignments every 8 weeks to complete the programme on time.

The course consists of a core of four mandatory units.

The four mandatory units (10 credits each) are as follows:

Completion of 18 units (180 credits), students will be awarded the Pearson BTEC Level 3 Extended National Diploma in Business.
Completion of 12 units (120 credits), students will qualify for the Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business. 
Completion of 9 units (90 credits), students will qualify for the Pearson BTEC Level 3 90-credit Diploma in Business.
Completion of 6 units (60 credits), students will qualify for the Pearson BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Business. 
NOTE: each of the above qualifications require all four mandatory units to be completed.

Completion of 3 units (30 credits), students will qualify for the Pearson BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Business.
