Step 2:

 You must scan all your education documents and send them by email to be assessed. If you are eligible for the course chosen we will accept you otherwise we will suggest a level and course that are more suitable. You can only be given a visa if you can show you have the ability to complete the course.

Step 3:

Once we have assessed your qualifications we will accept you on the course and issue a student enrolment number.

Procedure for the enrolment of students

•   Payment details - only make a payment once you have been acceptred and if you have received a student enrolment number
•   Preparing documents - no interview is required under Tier 4 student visa applications.
•   Applying to the Embassy/High Commission  - you will need to fill in form VAF. The link to ukvisas can be found in the links and download section of the website
•   On arrival in UK - you must show your visa letter

Important information

Changes in immigration law came into affect on 1st April 2009 and are designed to broaden the scope and definition of student provisions making three categories available to students to enter the United Kingdom.

• student visitor category

A new category has been introduced providing for short term students to study in the UK on course lasting 6 months or less. This category does not provide for students who wish to take part time employment or seek an extension to their student visitor leave. Applicants will need to be in  compliance with the rules governing student visitor status that he/she:

                         i) is genuinely seeking entry as a student visitor for a limited period as stated by him/her, not exceeding six months; and

                         ii) has been accepted on a course of study which is to be provided by an organisation such as the College of Central London which is included in the Department for Education and skills' Register of Education and Training Providers; and

                         iii) intends to leave the United Kingdom at the end of his/her visit as stated by him/her and

                          iv) does not intend to take employment in the United Kingdom; and

                           v) does not intend to engage in business, to produce goods or provide services within the United Kingdom, including the selling of goods or services direct to members of the public; and

                           vi) does not intend to study at a maintained school; and

                           vii) will maintain and accommodate himself/herself and any dependents adequately out of resources avaialble to him/her without recourse to public funds or taking employment; or will, with any dependents, be maintained and accommodated adequately by relatives or friends; and

                           viii) can meet the cost of the return or onward journey; and

                            ix) is not a child under the age of 18.

• Child Visitor Category

Applications from short-term students under 18 years will be considered under the child visitor provisions. To ensure that existing child protection measures are being applied, an additional requirement has been introduced into this category to allow a child to study at a private institution which is registered on the DfES' Register of Education and Training Providers. Any student under 18 years but over 16 years wishing to work either part-time during term time or full-time in vacation periods or seeking to extend their leave, will need to obtain clearance under this category. • Student Category

Since 1 April 2009 all students need a student entry clearance to enter the United Kingdom to study, except those on a course of study of six months or less who may qualify for entry under the new category of student visitor.

Requirements for leave to enter as a student

57. The requirements to be met by a person seeking leave to enter the United Kingdom as a student are that he:

(i) has been accepted for a course of study, or a period of research, which is to be provided by or undertaken at an organisation which is included on the Register of Education and Training Providers, and is at either;

(a) a publicly funded institution of further or higher education which maintains satisfactory records of enrolment and attendance of students and supplies these to the Border and Immigration Agency when requested; or

(b) a bona fide private education institution; or

(c) an independent fee paying school outside the maintained sector which maintains satisfactory records of enrolment and attendance of students and supplies these to the Border and Immigration Agency when requested; and

(ii) is able and intends to follow either:

(a) a recognised full-time degree course or postgraduate studies at a publicly funded institution of further or higher education; or

(b) a period of study and/or research in excess of 6 months at a publicly funded institution of higher education where this forms part of an overseas degree course; or

(c) a weekday full-time course involving attendance at a single institution for a minimum of 15 hours organised daytime study per week of a single subject, or directly related subjects; or

(d) a full-time course of study at an independent fee paying school; and

(iii) if under the age of 16 years is enrolled at an independent fee paying school on a full time course of studies which meets the requirements of the Education Act 1944; and

(iv) if he has been accepted to study externally for a degree at a private education institution, he is also registered as an external student with the UK degree awarding body; and

(v) he holds a valid Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) clearance certificate from the Counter-Proliferation Department of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office which relates to the course, or area of research, he intends to undertake and the institution at which he wishes to undertake it; if he intends to undertake either,

(i) postgraduate studies leading to a Doctorate or Masters degree by research in one of the disciplines listed in paragraph 1 of Appendix 6 to these Rules; or

(ii) postgraduate studies leading to a taught Masters degree in one of the disciplines listed in paragraph 2 of Appendix 6 to these Rules; or

(iii) a period of study or research, as described in paragraph 57(ii)(b), in one of the disciplines listed in paragraph 1 or 2 of Appendix 6 to these Rules, that forms part of an overseas postgraduate qualification; and

(vi) intends to leave the United Kingdom at the end of his studies; and

(vii) does not intend to engage in business or to take employment, except part-time or vacation work undertaken with the consent of the Secretary of State; and

(viii) is able to meet the costs of his course and accommodation and the maintenance of himself and any dependants without taking employment or engaging in business or having recourse to public funds; and

(ix) holds a valid United Kingdom entry clearance for entry in this capacity.

Leave to enter as a student

58. A person seeking leave to enter the United Kingdom as a student may be admitted for an appropriate period depending on the length of his course of study and his means, and with a condition restricting his freedom to take employment, provided he is able to produce to the Immigration Officer on arrival a valid United Kingdom entry clearance for entry in this capacity.

Refusal of leave to enter as a student

59. Leave to enter as a student is to be refused if the Immigration Officer is not satisfied that each of the requirements of paragraph 57 is met.
